The Empty Tomb

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. (Matthew 28:5-6)

Easter Sunday is the celebration of Christ’s resurrection - a profound moment that lies at the heart and cornerstone of our Christian faith. It is the triumph over sin and death, offering us the promise of a new, renewed life shaped by God’s love and grace found in Jesus Christ. 

The women who approached the tomb were worried and unable to enter because the stone blocked their way. But to their astonishment, they found the tomb empty. They were reminded of the powerful fulfilment of Jesus’ words when the angel declared, “He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” This is not only profound truth, but also words of triumph, assurance and hope.
