After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. (Luke 10:1)
Mission is never a “lone ranger” ministry. From the beginning, our Lord Jesus chose his first Twelve and sent them out in pairs to preach the Gospel. He later dispatched another 72 in the same manner. Mission is always a team effort, reflecting God's own Trinitarian unity and the Church as Christ's Body. 

The Antioch Church did likewise (Acts 13:1-3). They officially sent out their “first missionaries”, viz. Paul and Barnabas. The missionaries also recruited others for their mission works e.g. Silas, Timothy, Titus, Luke, Tychicus, Onesimus and many others. Mission is always a team effort.
